Since inception, we have invested in and led over 200 transactions with a combined deal value of over R13 billion. Over this period, our private equity assets have achieved an internal rate of return (IRR) in excess of 30%.

Private debt
Westbrooke is a leading private lender, focusing on providing senior funding solutions to a variety of quality end-user clients across the UK, USA and South Africa. Investments take the form of open-ended investment funds, which benefit from stable, predictable, tax-efficient cash yielding returns in excess of those generated by traditional cash, bond and fixed income investments.

Hybrid capital
Westbrooke’s Hybrid Capital business provides flexible funding solutions to market leading operating partners in the UK, USA and South Africa. Investors benefit from a debt-led approach to private equity investing, by participating in transactions which comprise primarily secured debt instruments, but due to the favourable negotiating position of being a key funder, also participate in a businesses’ inherent upside potential through an element of equity co-investment.

Real estate
Westbrooke invests in direct real estate equity alongside experienced, on-the-ground partners in sub-sectors including residential, logistics, student accommodation, hospitality and mobile home parks. Investors benefit from exposure to de-risked investment opportunities which provide a combination of annual cash yield and capital appreciation potential through a variety of active and passive property and asset management strategies.

Private equity
Leveraging our heritage as a shareholder and operator of assets, Westbrooke invests in a variety of private equity opportunities in the UK and USA alongside best-of-breed partners who have a track record of building growing, industry-leading businesses.

Tax-enhanced investing
Westbrooke is South Africa’s leading tax-enhanced private market investment manager. Previously South Africa’s largest Section 12J manager, Westbrooke offers investors capital-preservation focused investment strategies which are enhanced through tax-deductible investment incentives contained within the South African Income Tax Act.
