South African hedge funds edged lower in June as global stock markets took a hit.
The HedgeNews Africa South Africa Single Manager Composite dipped -0.47% for the month as the FTSE/JSE All Share Index fell -5.47% and the All Bond Index added 1.55%.

By comparison, the MSCI World Index fell -3.77% and the MSCI Emerging Markets Index declined by -4.46%.
Fixed income funds were the strongest category, adding a median 0.77% for the month to sit 4.62% higher on the year.
Market neutral and quantitative funds gained a median 0.22% for the month, with the category sitting 2.55% higher year to date.
Long/short equity funds had a tough month, declining by a median -0.65% in June, while Single-Manager Multi-Strategy funds fell a median -2.2% for the month.
