Investment Stategy

MitonOptimal ASTUTE Model Portfolios combine selected hedge fund managers to pursue specific client outcomes. By blending complementary managers, the portfolios seek to enhance returns and manage volatility through diversification. ASTUTE Guarded focuses on lower volatility and retirement drawdown needs, while ASTUTE Bold focuses on return enhancement with higher volatility. Each model offers a distinct investment approach, allowing advisers to align portfolio selection with their clients’ objectives and tolerance for risk.

Investment Team

Jacques de Kock leads MitonOptimal’s hedge fund team alongside Roeloff Horne, Gavin Betty and Oscar de Waal. A CFA charterholder, Jacques brings fund management experience. Roeloff and Oscar contribute more than 60 years of combined experience in fund selection and management. Gavin brings extensive derivatives and hedge fund expertise from his career at Peregrine Securities. Together, the team combines investment experience with a focus on portfolios designed around specific client outcomes.
