OUR FUNDS

• Southchester Smart Escalator Prescient QIHF – a geared fixed income hedge fund targeting institutional and qualified investors. Consistent returns across market
  cycles.
• Southchester Global Segregated Portfolio – international QIHF – leveraged fixed income hedge fund, investing in USD, GBP and EUR denominated assets. The fund targets SA and international institutional clients as well as HNW individuals.
• Amplify SCI Cautious RIHF – within the Amplify (Sanlam) stable of hedge funds with portfolio management delegated to Southchester. A cautious FI hedge strategy focusing on capital preservation and liquidity. Absolute returns across market cycles.
• The Southchester Worldwide Income FR QIHF. A rand-based fund with direct foreign-currency exposure investing in US dollar denominated assets. The fund targets South African clients and HNW individuals.
• Our other offerings include Southchester (RF) Limited and Northchester (RF) Limited, both public companies – these entities issue short to longer-date commercial paper to asset managers and institutional investors. The Southchester BCI Optimum Income Fund – a fixed income fund targeting corporates and HNW individuals seeking a stable after-tax return.

The Southchester Smart Escalator Prescient QI Hedge Fund
Our flagship QIHF is a fixed income hedge fund with a benchmark of Repo + 4%. This fund has delivered on average Repo + 6% since inception in 2017, with very low volatility. The fund targets qualified investors seeking consistent, high income returns. It invests in major SA Government, SA and international banks as well as leading corporate issuers.
No performance fees, and the fixed management fee is 1.8%.

Southchester Global Segregated Portfolio
Our dollar-equivalent fixed income hedge fund with a benchmark of SOFR + 3%. It has outperformed its benchmark since inception with very low volatility.

Amplify SCI Cautious RIHF
Our latest joint fixed income hedge fund offering with a benchmark of STeFI +3%. This fund targets retail clients.

INVESTMENT TEAM

Southchester has an experienced team of 11 people. The team members actively involved with our hedge funds are:

Andra Greyling started her career in fixed income investment and trading in 1988. She has worked for various institutions and niche banks. She has a BCom Business Economics and a BCom Honours in Investment Management.

Gregg Bayly started in the financial services industry in 1995. He trained as an accountant, obtained a BCom Honours degree and later became an associate member of the British Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, after which he studied law and obtained an LLB degree.

Jeleze Hattingh’s financial markets foray commenced in 2003. She gained experience ranging from operational risk, financial engineering and strategic change management to
both portfolio and executive management. She holds an MSc BMI cum laude and is a member of the CFA institute.

Taryn Visser started in the financial services industry in 2007. After obtaining her BCompt degree and SAICA articles, she moved to fund service back-office administration and has
managed fund accounting teams at both Maitland Group SA and State Street.

The team is supported by an additional seven specialised operational and financial people.
