The HedgeNews Africa South Africa Single Manager Composite returned a median 0.76% in July, led by the long/short equity category, which delivered 1.23%.
It was a bullish month for equities, which saw the FTSE JSE All Share Index gain 4.18%, while South Africa’s All Bond Index added 0.83%.
Single-manager multi-strategy funds were the next strongest category, gaining a median 0.91%, while South Africa fixed income hedge funds added a median 0.61% in July and market neutral & quantitative funds rose 0.54%.
