The HedgeNews Africa South African Single-Manager Composite edged higher in February with a median gain of 0.13%, as returns diverged significantly at both the strategy and fund levels. The broader HedgeNews Africa Single-Manager Composite, which includes the performance of Africa-focused funds, added a median 0.28% for the month.
By comparison, the FTSE/JSE All Share Index declined 3.11% on a total-return basis in February, the MSCI World Index added 2.58% and the MSCI Emerging Markets Index rose 2.99%.
