AG Capital is the specialized Hedge Fund arm of the Anchor Group, offering best-of-breed multi-strategy and single strategy Retail Hedge Funds, across a variety of Linked Investment Service Providers (LISPS), giving investors a risk-efficient alternative to traditional long-only equity funds.

AG Capital is a licensed financial services provider (FSP No. 43325) with our head office situated in Cape Town. Founded in 2010, our approved licenses include categories 1, 2 and 2A, enabling the provision of discretionary hedge fund services, as well as intermediary financial services to institutions, funds, asset managers and professional investors.

AG Capital Rainbow FR Retail Hedge Fund

The AG Capital Rainbow FR Retail Hedge Fund targets consistent absolute returns while prioritising capital preservation. Since inception in 2017, the portfolio manager, Richard Arnesen, has consistently outperformed the fund’s benchmark – producing double-digit returns in volatile economic climates. As of August 2024, AG Rainbow has generated an annualised return of +17.55% since inception, with assets under management of R 750+ million.

AG Capital European Trends FR Retail Hedge Fund

The AG Capital European Trends FR Retail Hedge Fund is AG Capital’s latest Hedge Fund offering having launched in August 2024. The equity long/short strategy has a specialized European focus and aims to produce returns of between 0.75% to 1% per month (in Euros) regardless of market direction. Managed by Oliver Noth, the fund is positioned for low-yield environments where hard currency cash earns low / negative real yields and is the appropriate solution for local investors seeking low-risk global equity exposure.

The AG Capital Fusion FR Retail Hedge Fund is a South African Fund of Hedge Funds offering investors cost-effective access to a diversified range of the AG Capital’s top-performing hedge fund strategies. Marketed as a solution for more risk-averse investors seeking exposure to hedge funds, AG Fusion is a zero-fee fund with broad platform availability and its diversified approach delivers less-volatile returns and more streamlined risk management. Managed by Henry Biddlecombe, Fusion has an annualised return since inception of +16.44% and assets under management of R 400+ million.
